Why the Six Working Geniuses?

Created by Patrick Lencioni, the Six Working Geniuses model is a powerful tool that helps leaders identify the type of work that gives them life versus the kind that leaves them stuck, frustrated, or burned out. Each genius is a distinct type of working energy that, when aligned with your role and responsibilities, leads to greater joy, productivity, and clarity in leadership.

The six geniuses are:

1. Wonder: The genius of pondering and dreaming.

2. Discernment: The genius of intuition and judgment.

3. Galvanizing: The genius of rallying others into action.

4. Enablement: The genius of providing support and assistance.

5. Tenacity: The genius of pushing projects to completion.

6. Invention: The genius of creativity and solving problems.

Each leader has two “working geniuses” (gifts that give you energy), two “working competencies” (things you can do but don’t love), and two “working frustrations” (things that drain you). Understanding this dynamic can be a game-changer.
